YOU WOULDN’T READ ABOUT IT!
YOU WOULDN’T READ ABOUT IT!
After a recent early morning start, I was discussing the virtues of keeping our eyes on the road, especially with heavy fog and low cloud on the mountain. My concern was for visibility throughout the area, in particular, on our roadways. I should be cautious with what I discuss, later that day I was attending a traffic crash which had resulted from a motorist who didn’t see the other vehicle.
I’m sure you all are aware - Road Safety is a priority for officers at North Tamborine Station. It was really pleasing for us to see that perhaps the message was getting out there as we only had two accidents reported in the past month. That’s a big shout out to the community for heeding the advice. No matter what your form of transport and level of knowledge or experience, everyone should be able to engage on their journey with courtesy, respect for other road users, and to do so safely.

Please keep an eye on your speed, make sure your car is roadworthy and registered. With several Traffic Operations coming up, you can expect to see officers from various locations up here performing duty. Motorcyclists – I can only express to you the need to take care – as a group, you have lost way too many lives with a high number of riders leading to their own untimely demise. It’s a tragedy and something we as Police would desperately not want to attend nor see happen.

A couple of opportunistic thefts over the period saw some tools and number plates stolen from vehicles. We do have the available screws to secure your number plate at the Station. If you come in and ask for some, we are more than happy to assist.

School’s back, and it’s great to see happy faces about the place – and that’s just the parents! Please keep an eye out for little ones walking, riding and generally not paying attention, especially during morning and afternoon drop off. Parents, please keep up the education around road safety with your clan.

As always, report matters that might seem suspicious. Your information is just a phone call away and may help save someone’s life or protect their property. You never know.
