TRAVELLING PLACES – REGENT SEVEN SEAS
TRAVELLING PLACES – REGENT SEVEN SEAS
Regent Seven Seas is recognised by travellers and the industry alike as the leaders in luxury cruising. These wonderful ships are spacious, elegant, and offer an experience to entice travellers to return time and again on these wonderful voyages.
They are fully inclusive – so all meals, beverages, tipping, shore excursions and even laundry are included in the tariff. So when you disembark at the end of your cruise with a suitcase full of clean clothes, there is also nothing to pay. There are a couple of extra items – spa treatments, private shore excursions or excellent vintage wines or spirits.
Designing wonderful itineraries to all of the world’s continents, you are bound to find a destination to intrigue you. Itineraries can be anything from 7 nights to 168 nights, and everything in between! Most of our travellers cruise between 10 days to three weeks. Occasionally, travellers have the time to escape the everyday and take a grand World Cruise – interestingly, these longer journeys sell out the fastest; settle in and be pampered as you cruise the world.
I have been lucky to take two Regent cruises in the Mediterranean – on the Splendor and the Explorer. Fabulous ships, launched in the last five years and now joined by the brand-new Grandeur. The three smaller ships bring the fleet to six. These are small ships: the smallest of the fleet – Navigator– carries a maximum of 496, while the largest is home to a maximum of 746 travellers. The space is wonderful, the most reasonably priced cabin has a walk-in wardrobe, a sitting area and delightful décor. There are several restaurants on board – fine-dining French and New York Steak House, Asian fusion, Italian, al fresco casual by the pool and the main dining room, Compass Rose. In the evening, enjoy a relaxed drink listening to a piano player or a jazz band, or perhaps you would prefer the show in the Constellation Theatre.
While in port, the included excursions are excellent. They are immersive and tend to be ½ or full day trips to nearby regions. We visited Lucca one day with the wonderfully knowledgeable guide explaining the history of Tuscany, and calling in at a local winery for a tasting. Imagine going fishing in the Alaskan Wilderness. Or exploring the French Quarter in Shanghai. Explore the remote fjords of Iceland. Wander the back streets of Buenos Aires and walk into squares where locals are tango dancing just for the fun of it! There are so many areas of the world to explore – let Regent take you there in style, learn from their wonderful onboard lectures and excellent guides and indulge in a wonderful holiday.
Please join us at Witches Falls winery to learn more about Regent Seven Seas. Wednesday 22nd February at 2pm. RSVP to travel@travellingplaces.com.au or call Travelling Places 07 5545 1600.
