SPRINGTIME …
SPRINGTIME …
Hello to everyone on the Mountain, and what a busy time it has been.
With Spring just around the corner, I expect to see a flurry of utes and trailers heading to the dump with volumes of green waste and the like. Please take care and secure your load: flying debris can cause significant damage or harm to others.

Unfortunately, 5 traffic crashes, 2 drink drivers and a drug affected driver in the past 28 days, which continues to infect the Mountain. With Road Safety Week having been upon us, I want to reinforce that those crashes, and driving affected, take an enormous toll on the Community.

Crime does not escape us, with some fraud and break-ins occurring. We have had a sporadic number of events where “soda bulb bombs” have been used on people’s mailboxes and bins. This is incredibly dangerous – think missing fingers and the like. I’d ask parents who have these types of canisters at their home ensure they aren’t being used inappropriately.

If you are looking for more information about Road Safety or Security around your home or business, visit the myriad resources available on the internet, with the Qld Police Service website being a good source of information.

We will be out and about, and sometimes give out tickets and/or send people to Court. Remember getting a ticket is voluntary, it’s all based on your actions, so please obey the rules, and consider pledging to improve just one part of your driving to be safer on the road – think patience.

As always, report matters that might seem suspicious, your information is just a phone call away and may help save someone’s life or protect their property, you never know.
