PLANS AFOOT FOR TM VILLAGE SQUARE EXTENSION

Scenic Rim Regional Council has received an application from Hao Lee Pty Ltd for a development permit for a two-building extension at the Tamborine Mountain Village Square Shopping Centre.

The extension includes a new retail pavilion on the northern boundary, and a food and drink kiosk located to the north of the carpark access. The developer, if approved, plans to:
• build a new plaza or marketplace area
• improve the pedestrian link to Main Western Road
• change the entry design to the IGA Supermarket
• redo the facade of a building on the site
• increase the number of car park spaces to 168.
The upgrade of the pedestrian link will have more seating and greenery, and a semi-transparent roof. The developer also wants to change the sewage treatment and wastewater disposal system. Council’s town planning department is currently reviewing the application.
