GOOD TIMES …
GOOD TIMES …
I hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas and New Year break and was able to have some downtime. The weather turned it on, that’s for sure. A big shout out to the community for doing their best to stay on the road whilst dodging potholes. I’d like to thank the mini driver for parking his vehicle in the one outside the local fuel station, really helped me not get too close to the aquifer!
It’s going to be great in the coming weeks to see everyone back into the routine of school despite the delayed start. This is where I ask parents and care providers to ensure education for the kids and regular reminders of the potential dangers around traffic. Everyone takes care I’m sure, but please take your time (you can only go as fast as the car in front of you) and keep a keen eye out for the random youngster that occasionally pops out from behind a tree or parked car.

Crime:
Several recent offences have occurred at various addresses across the Mountain. A vehicle unlawfully entered, an attempt to steal a motor vehicle and a couple of break-and-enter offences to premises.
In most of these instances, an unlocked door has gifted the offender an opportunity that perhaps otherwise may not exist. Let’s not make it easy for these grubs. Lock it up, and please remain vigilant around suspicious activity. Record details of the suspicious people and vehicles and report this to us. Please continue to report all activity that doesn’t seem right; it is an incredible help to us and your neighbours.

Traffic:
The roads are wet, the roads are slippery – then someone rolls their vehicle on Tamborine Mountain Road near Piano Rock again!!! Everyone can play a role in ensuring safety. I know the condition of the road in this location is notorious for being slippery when wet, as I’m often the one assisting a motorist to recover their vehicle which has ended up off the road.

One of the best ways to have things done is to communicate with your local council and your Local MP. Main Roads and Council play a significant role with the roads. I have many conversations with motorists; however, if your voice is not heard by the entity responsible for your concern, then how are they to know it needs fixing?

I wish everyone a successful 2022 whatever it is you are doing. It’s been an interesting, entertaining, and sometimes comical past 12 months. Stay happy, stay healthy and always take responsibility for your actions.
As always, report matters that might seem suspicious - your information is just a phone call away and may help save someone’s life or protect their property; you never know.
